1953
The Willys-Overland company which by this time has deserved world popularity is bought by Kaiser corporation. The new company, called Willys Motors, is developing in several new directions; however jeeps remain the main part of its production.
1954 - 1955
Model Jeep CJ-5 is launched, which differs from the previous models by more streamline shapes of the body. This car was popular for many years, up to 1963, being exposed only to some upgrade. Having saved key parameters of the predecessor (CJ-2A), the CJ-5 car looked slightly "more soft", but its frame was expanded compared to its predecessor.
1962
Willys Motors company is reorganized into Kaiser Jeep Corporation.
1963
Jeep Wagoneer, the first all-wheel drive car with automatic transmission is launched.
1965-1969
Six-cylinder Dauntless engine, which doubled the power of Jeep cars, and also the new eight-cylinder Vigilent engine (250 hp) were developed. Sales of Super Wagoneer model started. Production of the modified Jeepster is restarted under the name Jeepster Commando. This car was produced in several body variants: van, multipurpose vehicle, pickup and roadster.
